CN Station
Trains were very important in the early history of Norwich. The 1876 map
shows the Brantford, Norwich and Port Burwell Railway ran diagonally across
South and North Norwich Townships. The Canada Southern Railway crossed
South Norwich and was featured in the book Blaine's Way by Monica
Hughes. |

The Port Burwell and Lake Huron Railway junction was in the west end of the
town of Norwich. From there it went south to the east edge of Otterville
then southeast to approach the Canadian Southern at concession 11 near Hawtrey.
The station was torn down in the 1940's. The photo shows the station at
Norwich Junction, south and west of the village. |
